Born in Rome in 1956, married, two children. Head of microbial biotechnologies lab at CNR's IBBR (Institute of Bioscience and Bioresources ) in Naples since 1996. Graduated in 1980, he worked 3,5 years as post-doc at the Institute Pasteur in Paris, France, working on development of the nervous system in neuro-muscular junction. Since 1985 he deals with nitro-fixative symbiosis between soil's bacteria and legumes. He published some 40 peer review articles, organized 5 Workshops, deposited 4 patents and 2 trademarks. Since 1998 he's very active in the diffusion of scientific culture on GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms) in agriculture, with some 20 interviews per year on newspapers, radio and national television. , He performed 3 audits at the National Parliament on GMOs and wrote a book: Il Caso OGM (The OGM case), published in 2014 e 2016 with Carocci editore, second classified at Galileo Prize. He collaborates with the Italian EnciclopediaTreccani and UTET for voices describing GMOs and Fumonisine.
